Piano Lessons

Piano is a very popular instrument for young and old. When a student is ready we offer the option of graded music exams. The most common exam body for piano is the Royal Irish Academy of music but we also have students examined by the ABRSM and the Leinster School of Music.

About Our Piano Classes

We teach piano from Mondays through to Saturday. We start our classes from 1:00pm until 9pm in the evening and from 9am on Saturdays. Classes are private and are 30 minutes long. The cost is €445 per semester (17 weeks, 1/2 year) Stage payment plans are available.

Christina Appleby

Having just obtained a First Class Honours Bachelor of Music International Degree from Maynooth University, Christina is very excited to share her expertise, versatility and appreciation for piano-playing at Kilternan School of Music.

María Trinchero

Maria has obtained the Associate and Licenciate Diplomas in Pianoforte Teaching and done training courses in the Kodaly Methodology. She has been working as an accompanist, pianoforte, preinstrumental and musicianship teacher

Victoria Whittam

Victoria has been teaching piano for over 19 years. Her students often start from a very young age, and she has taken many total beginners all the way to diploma standard. She sits her students for RIAM, ABRSM and written theory exams. The students that are willing, do local competitions including the Feis Ceoil, Newpark and EPTA. She loves discovering ways of helping students reach their maximum potential and have fun while doing so.

Didzis Kalniņš

Pianist Didzis Kalniņš was born in Jelgava in Latvia and started his musical studies in 1997 at Jānis Norvilis Madonas Music School, followed by Jāzeps Mediņš Rīga Music Secondary School and Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Music Academy under the guidance of Professor Juris Kalnciems, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Piano performance in 2013. In addition, after completing relevant courses and examinations, he obtained a piano teacher’s qualification.

Clodagh has over 20 years experience teaching and covers Leinster School of music exams and Royal Irish Academy exams

Ann O’Neill

Ann has over twenty years experience teaching piano to both young children and adults as well as students with special needs

Heather prepares candidates for Royal Irish Academy and Associated Board exams and has a 100% examination success record
