At Kilternan School of Music (KSM) we aim to deliver the best music education possible in a fun, friendly and enthusiastic environment. We have a fantastic team of teachers, all qualified in their field, with a passion for music and more importantly a passion for teaching. Music Classes

We teach a wide variety of instruments to students young and old, some in group settings and others in private one on one lessons
Andrew Sheeran

Violinist Andrew Sheeran graduated from the RIA with a First Class Honours degree in 2015

Ann O’Neill

Ann has over 20 years experience teaching piano to children and adults

Clodagh Clarke

Clodagh has over 20 years experience teaching and has been with KSM since 2007

Danny Roe

Danny has taught large and small groups and individuals from the age of 4 to adults of all ages

María Trinchero

Maria has obtained the Associate and Licenciate Diplomas in Pianoforte Teaching and done training courses in the Kodaly Methodology

Pianist Didzis Kalniņš was born in Jelgava in Latvia, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Piano performance in 2013

Frieda Freytag

Frieda encourages her students to explore improvisation, composition and, the joy of making music together

Heather has been teaching piano to young people of all ages for over 12 years

Joan Shields

Joan is a professional singer and vocal coach with many years experience performing & teaching internationally

John Caffrey

John has been playing guitar for almost 20 years and first began teaching students privately in 2004 while studying at DIT

Martin Meegan

Martin Meegan is a dedicated music educator and enthusiastic performer, being a proficient flautist, clarinettist and saxophonist

Matthew Mazanek

Matthew​ ​Mazanek​ ​is​ ​a​ ​guitarist​ ​from​ ​New​ ​York​ ​and​ ​considers​ ​​teaching and​ ​mentoring​ ​one​ ​of​ ​the​ ​most​ ​important​ ​musical​ ​activities​ ​a​ ​trained​ ​musician​ ​can​ ​engage​ ​in.

Paul Frost

Paul Frost graduated with a BMusHons from the Cork School of Music and with a PGDip from The Royal Academy of Music, London

Peter Moc

Peter has been teaching many styles of guitar, composition, music theory & arranging since 2008

Victoria Whittam

Victoria has been teaching piano for over 19 years. Her students often start from a very young age, and she has taken many total beginners all the way to diploma standard

Christina Appleby

Having just obtained a First Class Honours Bachelor of Music International Degree, Christina is very excited to share her expertise, versatility & appreciation for piano-playing at Kilternan School of Music.
